Im sure everyone is aware that its very nearly Christmas, I for one am getting a little fed up of hearing the gloom and doom about the credit crunch and all the shops that are going to close down, Wouldn’t it be great if Woolworths turned around and said, “thanx for the past week, it was the best one we’ve ever had, it was all a big PR spin”
So I have put together a little list of the best ways to get to hospital this Christmas, after all over 80,000 of us manage to end up there every Christmas.
- Every year at least 3 people are reported with broken arms due to pulling Christmas crackers.
- In 1999 over 200 people were admitted to hospital after not removing all the pins from new shirts
- Over the last 10 years 27 people have died testing batteries on their tongue.
- In 2001 9 people needed hospital treatment due to Scalextric cars.
- Last year 2 people died eating Christmas decorations they thought were chocolates.
- Since 1997 26 people have died watering Christmas trees with the the Christmas lights on.
- In 2002 12 people sustained burns when trying on a new jumper with a cigarette in their mouth.
- Last year 22 children were admitted to hospital when swallowing wheels from diecast cars.
- 5 People suffered 3rd degree burns last year when trying to flame torch their Christmas pudding.
Thanx to ModelZone for some of the stats.

Over the last few months the Government has been talking about introducing some new rules and regulations to the licensing act including the banning of happy hours, although it does seem as though the government has made a big u turn on this and decided to go for a softer approach which includes a ban on “all you can drink” offers, Pubs and clubs must now display the alcoholic content of drinks on their menus, there will be a new code of “responsible selling” and a complete ban on pubs offering alcohol as a prize in pub games.
The good news for all you drinkers who like to go down to your local pub in there’s no need to go and buy wine glasses to drink at home just yet as the government have relaxed some of the laws they were talking about.
There will be no ban on happy hours, also the idea of cigarette style health warnings on bottles have also been scrapped. This is great news for british pubs which have been closing at a rate of an average of 36 per week.

Following on from my post about gumtree spam i have just learnt about the scam that’s currently being used on classified sites like Gumtree and possibly Craigslist.
The scammer asks you to send money via western union to a friend to prove they have the funds then you send the scammer your receipt.
They then use this to commit idendity theft and take your money.
More information about it on the bbc watchdog site
On a search note ive noticed that Nissan have put some PPC ads on there in relation to the Nissan D22 pickup story about exploding engines

Another new(ish) search engine has hit the market! heard this before?…
Well this one is different, it doesn’t try and mess with algorithms or claim to search 432 trillion pages, nor does it claim to be “the best search engine ever”, search.io or Search!0 as it seems to have been branded is a simple but effective search tool. Firstly it brakes down different search option into, news, images, search, jobs, lyrics and even torrents and many more, this makes it much easier to pinpoint exactly what you want

then it goes even further by giving you multiple tabs to choose from for each search, for instance if i search for “computer programmer” in jobs i get job listings in different tabs from Monster jobs, Yahoo jobs, Myspace jobs and a few more, so you can switch tabs to search the separate sites.
And if i want to search “seo” in the normal search box i get a choice of tabs to view the results from Google, Yahoo and all the other “big boys”

The great thing about Search.io is that it doesn’t try and mess with rankings or try and be the next google, it takes the information that we all use and packages it all in one place which.
The interface is clean and simple, there’s also a latest searches feature which in truth does need some work.
Theres alot of potential for these sorts of sites, people want as much information as quickly as possible and thats what this does, also very useful for SEO as it makes checking rankings across the search engines very easy.

Way off topic but so angry i need to get this out
Anyone ever been to “the baby” in cheadle, uk?
i bought a pram from “the baby” a few months ago
il cut a long long story short but the pram had a fault with its wheels as they were very shaky
i sent it back to them and they claimed to have fixed it by putting on a new wheel so they sent it back to me
i then took my 4 month old baby for a walk and the pram wheel fell off and my daughter banged her head, not serious but enough for a trip to the hospital
The baby in cheadle were so rude and unhelpful im taking legal action against them, i highly advise anyone thinking of going there to think again
Anyone else had a bad experience with the baby, cheadle
Since this was first posted i have heard rumors that the baby in cheadle has closed down!!, can anyone confirm this for me please? just leave a comment at the end of this post
