Interesting spelling mistake search stats in google

by James Poole on August 1, 2008

Came across this page while browsing around today

Has the search stats of misspelled search terms for “Britney spears”
I think these sort of stats can be beneficial if used correctly to bring in traffic

http://www.google.com/jobs/britney.html

Although im sure most people corrwect the mistake there could still be some free traffic coming your way, i wouldn’t really advise optimizing pages for these terms but it could be used as an experiment to see if any traffic comes from this.

I will coe up with something over the weekend to write about and purpesly mispell words i think searchers may mispell and put it on the site
Any suggestions on a topic or words that are commonly misspelled??

    Interesting. As for words that are misspelled often.. Here’s my short list. Hope it helps.

    Teh = The
    Waht = What
    Wht = What
    Helo = Hello
    Borken = Broken
    Comon = Common
    Wendsday = Wednesday
    Iten = Item

    That’s all I can really think of at the top of my head. It’s normally the most common words which are spelled incorrectly. Thanks for the post. :)
